Sarwan commenced full-time work with Hall Payne Lawyers in November 2010 as a Trainee Solicitor, under the care and guidance of Principal, Cameron Hall. During her penultimate year of university, in December 2009, she completed a summer clerkship at the Federal Court of Australia, Melbourne. Sarwan was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in December 2011.

Sarwan has Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology.
