As an associate in the Industrial and Employment law team at Hall Payne Lawyers, Kristen is proud to draw on her many years of experience in a wide range of areas including helping clients with:
- unfair dismissals;
- discrimination claims;
- underpayment claims
- industrial action;
- employment law; and
- bargaining disputes.
Kristen started her professional career as an industrial/legal officer at the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU), representing members and officials in a vast range of matters, including proceedings brought by industrial regulators.
Kristen considers herself a unionist first and a lawyer second. Her many years as a legal officer within the union movement equip her with the skills to assist workers that have been unfairly treated. She has conducted litigation and provided advice in a number of jurisdictions.
Examples of cases that Kristen has concluded successfully include obtaining penalties against companies for breaches of the right of entry provisions under the Fair Work Act (2009)(Cth) and recovery of outstanding entitlements owed to members under Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
When she’s not advocating for workers, Kristen enjoys reading, riding her motorbike and running with her dogs.
