Rebecca von Samorzewski

Rebecca is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Tasmania and is involved in a number of extra-curricular activities associated with her studies.
As one of the Competitions Directors on the Tasmania University Law Society General Committee, Rebecca is responsible for selecting, coaching and registering teams for intervarsity mooting competitions. She also works collaboratively with two other Competitions Directors to successfully conduct a range of advocacy competitions including moot court, witness examination, client interview and negotiations.
Rebecca is passionate about oral advocacy and the skills that students develop when competing in these competitions. The legal reasoning and communication skills she has developed from competing has helped her better understand how the law operates in practice.
At Hall Payne Lawyers she enjoys working on disputes about workers’ compensation claims and getting to communicate with everyday Australians.
When workers are injured at work it can be a very daunting experience trying to navigate treatment options and requirements and the complexities of a disputed claim.
Employment law is another area of interest, specifically unfair dismissal and restraint of trade clauses in contracts. Often employees are dismissed from their job in a harsh, unjust or unreasonable manner. Rebecca is excited to continue to work on employment law and personal injury claims and help workers understand their rights.

I want to thank Indi at Hall Payne lawyers for helping me during a very emotional and stressful time. Indi's compassion, expertise and experience guided me through my worker's compensation claim and I could concentrate on my recovery.
Being an 'older' worker had challenges of it's own but Indi was reassuring as I was just ready to waIk away.
The Insurance Company requested an 'Independent' doctors report which was completely negative even though all medical MRI's etc confirmed the injury was ongoing - all weekly payments was abruptly stopped.
